When you’re self-employed and wearing all the hats in your business, it can be easy to forget to celebrate your achievements, success, and just how far you’ve come.
Which is why we’ve launched #GigSuperStars – a fun competition dedicated to celebrating the diverse talents, skill sets, and biz super stars from the self-employed community.
The concept is simple: the community nominates, the nominees fill out an official nomination, and 10 winners emerge – each with a small, but super handy prize that celebrates their journey.
And we’ve kicked it off with none other than the champions that champion the rest of us: VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS.
If you’ve ever worked with a great VA, you’ll know exactly how life-saving it can feel to have them onboard. From admin, to errands, from fixing website woes to creating system flows, and everything in between, VAs can be the glue that holds your business together.
And today, we celebrate the 10 winners from our community (in no particular order)...
Amy LOVES what she does. Customer Service is her THING. With extensive experience within the customer service and sales support world, she finds herself being the sounding board for many clients, understanding their business needs and exploring options for them to grow and expand. A chai-drinking, champagne-loving mum, who calls the beautiful Mornington Peninsula home, Amy is steadily growing the VA HQ team into an admin force to be reckoned with.
As a mum of two and business owner, Diandra understands how important it is to be organised, and when it’s time to outsource. With her background of over 10 years experience in customer service and administration, Diandra’s strength lies in providing background support for business owners to allow them to focus on running their business. Specifically looking after clients in legal, recruitment, financial services, health and wellness, business coaching, retail and education. Diandra is a one woman, customer service dream team.
Kirralee thrives on organisation! A true born Leo, when there’s a task set, you can rest assured she’ll not only get it done, but will complete it with the utmost of care. Kirralee shines when she’s helping businesses streamline processes or bringing brand consistency up to scratch. Creating a professional and smooth-running business, while freeing up owners and founders to work *ON* their business (rather than *in* their business) is her super power.
Seeking a change from the hectic world of an event manager, Lana decided to undergo a drastic career change and try her hand at a trade. It was while working in the construction industry that the idea for LAVA was born while witnessing the daily struggles and unnecessary stress of many tradies and small business owners. With too much to do but simply not enough time or resources to do them Lana is a tradies’ one-woman-dream-team using her well-rounded event management background to be a constant and consistent support and reduce owner-operator trade business owner burnout.
Kirsty is the to-do list conqueror, small business cheerleader, a mama and fur-mama, coffee-fuelled, chocolate-loving, social media maven (what a mouthful!). Working tirelessly with brands and businesses to remove the overwhelm of wearing all the hats in business, Kirsty frees her clients to concentrate on what they do best, while she takes care of the rest.

Korryn hadn’t planned to start a business. But when she landed her first client by accident in 2016 she figured she should just roll with it. Starting a business that was based online awakened her techy mind and Korryn’s knack for working out which tech works best for what, with what, and for whom, has made her a business owner's secret weapon! Why have someone do your admin when you can have someone reduce or even remove it! Korryn is a true tech mechanic – getting in and tinkering under business bonnets and making systems purr along beautifully.
Empires shouldn’t consist of constant pressure, stress, personal trade-offs, and isolation. Audacious Empires want to see empires thrive without all the strain. And for empires to do that, you need a proactive team...enter the Audacious Empires crew founded by Leanne Woff. If you want to scale your empire, jump to the next level, or release some of the pressure, you could hire 5 new staff members... or you could get audacious! Leanne and her team are the thinkers and doers, problem fixers, people-loving, mission-driven, experienced empire boosters.
A senior administration professional Lee has held a multitude of high level roles across banking and finance, real estate, accounting and advisory, retail, and wholesale. No business is the same and Lee (along with her ever growing team of VA wonders) knows that one size does not fit all – which is why Admin & Co’s service list is extensive, covering the breadth and width of support services a business could require (it’s no wonder Lee is the go-to for most of Geelong… seriously, check out her client list!).
If you're searching for someone with a passion for planning and organisation, look no further than Alex Michel (or as we know her, Ally). Ally is a sucker for a good looking spreadsheet, coffee, Netflix binges and walks along the Scarborough coastline in her spare time. Ally is a dependable “go-to” person and has a reputation for getting the job done, no matter how big or small.
If you’re looking for a great VA, hopefully this list gives you a good place to start your search. Check them out via the links included – you won’t be disappointed.
And keep an eye out for the next round of #GigSuperStars which kicks off real soon. Who knows, it might be your profession we celebrate next. 😉
